My Pattern Reviews - Simplicity 2213

Pattern Description:

Simplicity 2213
Misses/Miss Petite Evening Dress (in 2 lengths) - Jessica McClintock

Pattern Sizing:

Sizes 4,6,8,10,12 - 20

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Yes the dress looked very much like pictured on the pattern envelop. I made View B.

Were the instructions easy to follow?

I found the instructions very easy to follow.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?

I really like the simple design that hugs your sillouette. The added ruffle gives the dress a little more "sass". The front is low-cut, but the ruffles help to cover up a bit and provides the little bit of modesty that I feel comfortable with.

Fabric Used:

I believe it was a Rayon Jaquard. I purchased it on clearance at Hancock Fabrics. I have not been sewing in a number of years and wanted to try a few outfits with quality, yet moderately priced material. I have been lucky finding pieces such as this one.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:

The only alteration I made was to add lining to the entire dress. The instructions only provide for lining the bodice, but I felt with the fit of the dress, that I wanted the lining built into the dress.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?

Yes, my daughter and already placed an order for one (blue like View B on the pattern envelop.

Conclusion:

I really like this pattern. I can see it with a jacket and without the ruffles.
